ONPATH to Resell CALIENT’s FiberConnect 320X Switch for Cloud Networking Applications

CALIENT Technologies has inked an agreement with ONPATH Technologies, a provider of monitoring and connectivity solutions, enabling ONPATH to serve as a reseller of CALIENT’s FiberConnect 320X photonic switch. ONPATH will provide the FiberConnect 320X switch for cloud networking and test automation applications.

The FiberConnect 320X platform provides high-density photonic switch with 320 ports or 640 fiber terminations. The platform is Telcordia proven and has a 70,000-fiber termination base. The platform will expand ONPATH’s Universal Connectivity System that includes the UCS 2900 and 3900 series. ONPATH will now offer an extended optical and electrical solutions portfolio for networking applications. The UCS portfolio will feature various major features such as protocol independence and high-speed.

ONPATH is also aspiring to be a part of the CALIENT 3D MEMS Inside strategy, which will allow CALIENT to manufacture a switch module in a compact form factor. ONPATH is analyzing the solution for the 3900 family of layer switching systems.

ONPATH’s Chief Executive Officer, Brian McCann stated that the company is delighted to provide customers with high-speed potentials for application interfaces such as wavelength division multiplexing, 100G Ethernet, and 16G Fiber Channel.
