American Medical Systems Introduces MoXy Fiber for BPH Laser Treatment

American Medical Systems (AMS) has rolled out a new liquid cooled fiber for treating benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) with laser. The MoXy liquid cooled fiber can be used with the 180 W GreenLight XPS (Xcelerated Performance System) laser and features an Active Cooling Cap technology.

According to AMS, the MoXy fiber utilizes a 360° saline flow to maintain the fiber tip’s temperature for improved fiber longevity. The integration is 50% quicker in vaporization speed compared to the 120 W GreenLight HPS (High Performance System), and thereby minimizes operative cost and treatment time.

In addition, the fiber system retains the same safety profile of the GreenLight PV and HPS systems despite high power.
