OVii Integrates Pixim’s Processing Chip in Camera Modules

Supplier of image sensing chips, Pixim announced that Optical Video Imaging (OVii) is now offering camera units based on Pixim’s latest chip series, Seawolf.

OVii develops six different kinds of Seawolf platforms with more than 500 configurations that include single stack 42x42, 38x38, 32x32 mm printed circuit boards (PCBs). OVii develops CCTV cameras and camera modules on a private label and OEM/ODM basis.

The new camera modules based on Seawolf platforms feature a resolution of 690 HTVL and a wide dynamic range. Seawolf-based cameras need an illumination of 0.1 lux to generate color images at 30 fps.

OVii has also manufactured a wide range of sub-assemblies and components such as 12/24 Switching Power Supplies, True Day/Night IR Cut Mechanisms, BG39 and Hot Mirror IR Cut Filters, M12/M14 Optical Filter, and C/CS Mount Filter Holders to be used with the Seawolf camera units.

OVii’s Chief Executive Officer, Craig Scott stated that by using the Seawolf platform as the image sensor, the company would provide high-quality cameras, which could be utilized for facial recognition, license plate capture, transportation, and general security purposes.
