Osram Releases Four-Chip OSTAR Lighting Plus LED

Osram Opto Semiconductors has introduced a new OSTAR Lighting Plus LED to retrofit halogen lamps or incandescent lamps. The power LED is suitable for interior lighting applications such as homes, offices and shops where directional light from a small element such as spotlighting is needed.

Four-chip OSTAR Lighting Plus

The OSTAR Lighting Plus LED comprises four chips that are fabricated in UX:3 chip technology and is more efficient compared to its previous models. The LED emits either warm-white or cold-white light and offers more illumination from a small space. It offers a brightness of 365 or 425 lm at 350 mA operating current with a typical efficiency of around 80 lm/W and 100 lm/W, respectively.

The warm-white OSTAR Lighting Plus delivers 365 lm, draws power below 5 W, and exhibits a color rendering index of 80. The LED exhibits a luminous flux of over 65% and offers more than 80% of energy savings. Only four Osram LEDs are required to replace a 100 W frosted incandescent lamp.
