KDN to Begin Work on Fiber-Optic Network Project in Kenya

Kenya Data Networks (KDN), a provider of broadband services, has announced that it will start working on a fiber-optic network along with Green Future, a Kenyan firm. Green Future is one of the ten firms chosen by KDN to deploy the fiber-optic network project.

Chief Marketing Officer of KDN, Vincent Wang'ombe stated that the company has dedicated a maximum of $14.4 million for deploying the network infrastructure. He added that the company has provided KES110 million for deploying the fiber-optic network between Kampala to Gatuna, Kenya. Green Future will deploy the fiber-optic network for that route.

Green Future had earlier worked on deploying a fiber-optic network from Mombasa to Kampala in Uganda. The network connects Uganda to Rwanda, making it a pan-African optical fiber connectivity. Green Future’s Managing Director, Fred Sewe commented that the fiber-optic network project will further strengthen the presence of KDN in the region.
