Lighting Science’s LED Bulbs Certified for Xcel Energy Rebates

Xcel Energy has announced businesses rebates for Colorado and Minnesota to speed up the installation of ultra-efficient LED bulbs. Lighting Science Group received the ENERGY STAR label for the PAR38 LED, the MR16 LED and the PAR30 bulbs.

The LED bulbs are about 80% more efficient when compared to 25, 60 and 75 W conventional bulbs. In addition, the bulbs have 50% more light output than other lighting products and are fully dimmable. The DEFINITY bulbs as well as the G25, PAR20 and A19 bulb application types are going through the approval process for the ENERGY STAR label. The DEFINITY LED bulbs are recyclable, mercury-free, and provide better light quality than compact fluorescent lamps.

Lighting Science Group’s Chief Executive Officer, Zach Gibler stated that the installation of the company’s ENERGY STAR-approved LED bulbs could provide significant savings in energy, replacement and maintenance costs for Minnesota and Colorado businesses. He added that the rebate programs would aid in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and LED lighting costs.
