High-Performance LED Drivers from Toshiba

Toshiba America Electronic Components (TAEC) has expanded its portfolio of LED drivers by introducing four new devices namely the TC62D776, TC62D722, TC62D749A and TC62D748A LED drivers (LEDDs). The 16-channel constant current LEDDs regulate light control in RGB panel LED displays or back lighting in notebook PCs, digital TVs and LCD panels.

The TC62D722 LEDDs feature a 16-bit pulse-width-modulation output mode, which helps in minimizing display flicker. The TC62D748A/749A LEDDs have the characteristics of constant-current output voltage that can be easily adjusted with a power-on reset mode and an external resistor. The TC62D776 LEDDs have a standby mode that minimizes the idle-state power consumption of an LED panel as much as 1,000 times less when compared to other LEDDs without this feature.

The RoHS-compliant LEDD families are fabricated using the company’s CDMOS process technology. A single external resistor controls the LED Drivers’ 16-channel output current value. The former enables tightly regulated power flow to the LEDs for better display illumination.
