SavWatt Launches T-8 Tube Replacement LED Lights in the US

SavWatt USA will start selling the LED T-8 replacement lightings, which are assembled in the US, in 2011. The 4 ft, 16 W T-8 LED fluorescent tube lighting will replace a regular 40 W fluorescent tube, offering 60% savings in energy consumption. The energy savings do not include replacement costs savings.

The SavWatt LED tube lightings have a lifespan ranging from 50,000 to 80,000 hr, when compared to conventional fluorescent tubes that have an 8,000 hr lifetime. The company’s Eco-Watt technology provides improved heat dissipation techniques. The LED lights do not emit infrared, ultraviolet ray radiation. They also feature enhanced component quality control.

SavWatt’s Vice-President of Product Development, Sam Abecassis stated that the company has worked hard to develop and launch an UL-approved T-8 LED tube light. By assembling the lights in the US, the company would be able to manage the quality concerns and market requirement. He added that the requirement for replacement T-8 LED lights is massive, as 80% of lights utilized in offices are fluorescent tube lightings.
