Huawei, Telekom Brunei Berhad Collaborate for National Fiber Broadband Project

Huawei and Telekom Brunei Berhad have entered into an agreement for the construction of a next-generation broadband network in Brunei. Under the agreement, Huawei will offer a package of end-to-end turnkey services that includes construction management, holistic Optical Distribution Network (ODN) network designs, and passive and active equipment.

The national broadband project would offer 40,000 subscribers with complete package of services such as ISP, transport, broadband, and voice services, at a maximum of 150 Mbit/s data transfer rates. The fiber-optic project will be completed in four phases.

The national broadband network project of Telekom Brunei Berhad will use Huawei's ODN technology, and the Fibre-to-the-Home technology. The fiber-optic project will meet the increasing need for ultra broadband services such as high-definition TV and high-speed Internet.
