The PASSPORT iQ has a radar antenna fitted in the rear, front and back laser lenses. The navigation software has been offered from an unnamed third party. The device fits perfectly in the standard form factor of a personal navigation device. ESCORT intends to develop an optional model of the PASSPORT iQ platform by including real-time traffic and Bluetooth technology.

The VP of New Product Development at ESCORT, Tim Coomer stated that ESCORT engineers were able to modify the typical radar detector form by developing a new microwave antenna assembly.
