Supplier of secret intelligence sensor systems, TerraEchos has received the IBM CTO Innovation Award for its Adelos S4 optical fiber sensor solution. The award was presented at the 2010 IBM Information On Demand Conference that was held in Las Vegas.
The Adelos S4 fiber-optic sensor system combines geospatial awareness technologies, sophisticated sensor function, and IBM InfoSphere Streams, to recognize threat identified by submerged or buried fiber-optic sensor arrays. TerraEchos manufactured the solution for utilization in crucial infrastructure protection and border security.
Adelos S4 comprises a fiber-optic sensor array that is buried underwater or in the ground to collect acoustic details. The collected data is analyzed and then the sound patterns are linked against complex algorithms to establish the cause of noise. Adelos S4, incorporating InfoSphere Streams technology, has the ability to quickly recognize, differentiate and organize various objects recognized by the optical fiber array.
IBM InfoSphere Streams is a computing technology that allows faster analysis of details in real-time. Adelos S4 fiber-optic system is developed to meet the increasing security demands from the transportation, public safety, energy, and government sectors.
