Radius Infratel announced that it will invest Rs. 5,000 crores in the upcoming 4-5 years, for providing Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) infrastructure for commercial and residential constructions.
Radius Infratel’s FTTH platform is a shared fiber-optic based platform to allow all IP based security, entertainment, IT, and telecom services at the last mile. The company’s Neutral Access Network Operations platform allows delivery of telecom services offered by numerous service providers using one optical fiber.
The CEO of Radius Infratel, Rajnish Wahi stated that the investment would be made by 2015. The investment would be funded by the equity of promoters, debt, and also by accruals. The company has covered nearly 10,000 units in Dwarka, Gujarat, and 1,100 units in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh by using its FTTH infrastructure.
Radius Infratel has also made a tie up with MTNL and Airtel to offer broadband and IPTV services. Wahi commented that the company plans to cover 600,000 residential and commercial units in the upcoming three years. He added that the company is positive about the FTTH technology, but requires more support from the government.
