Ortus Technology, a manufacturer of medium and small-sized displays, has introduced a new full HD MID-scale display panel. The 4.8” display panel provides a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels with 458 ppi (pixels per inch).
The display is purported to feature 160º viewing angles. It is also supposed to have been developed using the company’s HAST manufacturing system, which utilizes a mixture of high-quality optics, narrow bonding, and low-resistance wiring, to decrease the distance present between every pixel and to enhance the aperture for high brightness.
The HAST system enabled Ortus to manufacture a 546 ppi display, although it functions at 960 x 540 pixels. The company also plans to develop 6.5” 960 x 540 OLED displays that function with a TFT substrate. Ortus is a partnership between Toppan Printing and Casio.
