Gekko Technology Receives Awards for LED Lighting at IBC2010

LED-based luminaire provider, Gekko Technology has received two awards for its lighting technology, at the IBC2010 exhibition, Amsterdam. Gekko provides LED-based luminaires for TV and film. Production Resource Group distributes the luminaires in North America.

The kleer colour LED-based multichip array technology of Gekko won the Excellence in Design & Innovation award from the International Association of Broadcast Manufacturers (IABM). The IABM awards are awarded for recognition, innovation, design of solutions that help in the evolution of media and broadcast technology industry. The kezia 200 and 50 hard-source LED luminaires of the company use the kleer colour technology. Both the LED luminaires won the Broadcast Engineering magazine’s Pick Hit award.

Gekko's MD and Founder, David Amphlett stated that the company’s kleer colour technology offers accurate color temperature control, with no necessity to gel the fixtures. Amphlett added that with the use of software control, kleer colour generates diverse colors and high quality whites. A closed feedback loop assures color stability in different ambient temperatures, Amphlett said.
