Olympus Adds Laser Sharing Capabilities to Fluoview FV1000MPE and FV1000 Microscopes

Olympus has added dual port SIM scanning and laser sharing capabilities to the Fluoview FV1000MPE multiphoton laser scanning and FV1000 confocal laser scanning microscopes. The modules offer efficient methods of improving flexibility and allow users to perform various applications.

The laser sharing system from Olympus allows users to utilize the same infrared laser to two different MPE systems. This feature allows scientists to carry out various applications, connecting numerous multiphoton systems based on upright and/or inverted microscopes.

Fluoview FV1000MPE Microscope

The FV1000 SIM scanner’s second laser port amplifies the versatility of the Olympus multiphoton and confocal systems. The lasers can also be utilized for high-speed multi-point scanning applications. The Fluoview FV1000MPE series offers deep imaging for thick and live slice samples. The MPE system, based on the FV1000 confocal laser scanning microscope, comes in four different models and offers high penetration depths.

Every model utilizes non-descanned detectors and infrared femtosecond pulsed lasers to cover the required multiphoton excitation images. The Stimulation system has two groups of laser scanners for simultaneous and confocal stimulation by utilizing multiphoton absorption.

The Multiphoton system attains deeper imaging with minimal complexity. The Basic system allows confocal imaging and multiphoton deep imaging with a visible laser.  The Twin system includes the SIM scanner and offers a second infrared laser for concurrent laser manipulation and multiphoton imaging.
