GAO Instruments Releases New Optical Fiber Identifier

Developer of telecommunication testers, GAO Instruments has rolled out the new A0640003 optical fiber identifier. The A0640003 is suitable for maintenance of CATV and telecommunication systems, fiber optics networks, and test labs.

Portable Optical Fiber Identifier

The new optical fiber identifier offers high output, low bending loss, and core power display of optical fibers. The optical device detects and tests optical signals, absence or presence of signals, and modulation signals, during restoration or rerouting, maintenance, and installation.

The portable fiber identifier has an optical power reading ranging from -30 to 5 dBm, and an operating wavelength range of 900 - 1650 nm. In addition, the A0640003 detects the optic fiber’s relative core power. The identifier offers Ø3.0, Ø2.0, Ø0.9, and Ø0.25 replaceable adaptors for a wide range of optical cables. The optical device identifies frequency signals such as 2kHz, 1kHz, 270Hz, and CW.
