Panduit Demonstrates Fiber Optic Connectivity Solutions at Interoperability Event

Provider of Unified Physical Infrastructure-based solutions, Panduit took part in the interoperability event held at the iSimCity lab of Ixia in Santa Clara. Ixia provides converged IP performance test solutions. The event tested the interoperability of 100 and 40 Gbps Ethernet equipment that complies with the standard furnished by the IEEE 802.3ba committee.

Panduit offered connectivity and cabling solutions at the event. Panduit’s solutions supported all the new Physical Media Dependent (PMD) versions that were tested at the iSimCity lab. Panduit also supported a 275 m length of 100GBASE-SR10 operation through its Opti-Core multimode fiber optic cable and connectivity. Simplify

The 275 m link consists of fiber cable with seven concatenated lengths for validating the optimized 24-fiber MTP connectivity and media bandwidth. The blend of optical connectors and fiber length demonstrated Panduit’s advanced fiber optic technology. The company’s Opti-Core fiber makes it easier to shift to 100/40 G Ethernet networks. The fiber links that support 10 G Ethernet can exceed the 150 m limit for 40/100 G. The 10 G Ethernet links, installed with the Opti-Core fiber optic technology, enables the link to be redeployed for 100/40 G.

The interoperability setup comprised 100 Gbps CFP optical modules from Reflex Photonics, and an Ixia K2 test system traffic generator. The K2 Higher Speed Ethernet (HSE) system tests the interoperability and functionality of network equipment, optical transceivers, and 40 and 100 GE copper and fiber cables.
