Acuity Brands has extended its support towards Supervalu’s sustainability initiative to improve its shoppers’ experience and store setting with the Lithonia Lighting RTLED. Supervalu started the trial by utilizing the RTLED in its Chestnut Hill Star Market in Massachusetts last year. The Star Market was the test ground for the LED lighting installation.

RTLED

The Star Market is the first grocery store in Massachusetts to be illuminated with LEDs. In view of the trial’s success, two more SUPERVALU stores, based in Southern California, were illuminated with the RTLED luminaires.

The RTLED lighting system is powered with a sophisticated LED light engine and has a system life of 50,000 h. The luminaire delivers 3500K color temperature, an 80+CRI color rendering, and offers a complete dimming options with a 0 to 10V DC control. The RTLED lighting system produces uniform illumination across the space. It cuts down maintenance costs and energy consumption, thus reducing the building’s environmental footprint.

Lithonia Lighting Commercial Indoor Products’ General Manager and Vice President, Dave Ranieri stated that the RTLED lighting system is ideal for retail environment. Ranieri added that the company’s optical system combines LED brightness and offers maximum light output, efficiency and visual comfort.
