Citizen, Once Innovations to Expand LED Lighting Business

Manufacturer of LED lighting products, Once Innovations has signed a licensing agreement with Citizen Electronics to speed up the expansion of the LED lighting market. Under the terms of the licensing agreement, Citizen will get access to a portion of Once Innovations’ IP portfolio. The IP portfolio is related to the color temperature shift control and the AC LED conditioning technologies for dimmable AC LED lights.

Citizen Electronics’ President, Yoshihiro stated that the licensing agreement shows that both companies are committed to provide the latest LED lighting technologies to the commercial and consumer markets. He added that the company aspires to extend its LED business by obtaining high-quality technologies in the market and integrating them with its precision manufacturing capability developed through the watch business.

The Chief Executive Officer of Once Innovations, Zdenko Grajcar commented that the company has successfully demonstrated that the AC LED technology can have power quality with a Total Harmonic Distortion under 20% and a Power Factor of more than 0.98.
