Glimmerglass Networks’ VP of Sales Latin America and Asia-Pacific, Jay Bowker has delivered a speech at the Submarine Networks World 2010. Glimmerglass provides intelligent optical layer management systems. The conference took place on October 13 2010 at Singapore.
The Intelligent Optical Systems from Glimmerglass offer a cost-effective solution to network operators by instantly enhancing the undersea networks’ availability. The company provides seamless and immediate capabilities to network operators to recover from device failures, cable breaks and natural disasters.
Bowker also participated in a panel discussion to evaluate the feasibility of using 40 G technology to optimize high-bandwidth needs. Bowker also spoke about new mesh network infrastructure for enhanced reliability, diversity and resilience. In addition to the presentations, Glimmerglass showcased the optical layer management systems and sponsored the Speed Networking event.
Bowker informed that the optical layer management solutions support 100 and 40 G optical transponders without requiring any software or hardware upgrade. The optical systems provide high-quality switching fabric to service providers.
Bowker further added that the company’s optical solutions enhance the availability and reliability of undersea fiber-optic networks through the combination of the company’s resilient mesh capabilities and data rate transparency into the present optical networks.
