TalkTalk, provider of broadband and phone bundle solutions, has planned to utilize BT’s fiber-optic broadband network. By leveraging BT’s fiber-optic infrastructure, TalkTalk will be able to provide broadband packages that will have maximum download speeds of 40 Mb/s. The high-speed broadband is almost two times faster than the existing speed.

TalkTalk’s Chairman, Charles Dunstone stated that the company is all set to use BT’s high-speed infrastructure. This will make the company to become BT’s first wholesale customer.

BT had planned to provide its fiber-optic services to two-thirds of UK premises by 2015. The company has also planned to provide the fiber-optic technology to four million homes and businesses by 2010 end.
