Optrex Introduces LED-Backlit Displays with Natural Color Matrix Technology

Optrex America has introduced a wide range of TFT LCDs to meet the rising demand for LED backlights in the LCD market. The TFT LCDs feature white LED backlights and have an average lifetime of 60,000 h. The displays’ screen brightness levels vary from 800 cd/m² to 1500 cd/m² for outdoor applications and from 400 cd/m² to 700 cd/m² for indoor applications.

The displays have a wide storage and operating temperature range, a maximum contrast ratio of 1000:1 and wide viewing angles of up to 160º. The LCD displays are available s in 15.0”, 12.1”, 10.4”, 8.4”, 6.5”, 5.7”, 5.0”, 4.3”, 3.5”, 3.0”, and 2.0” sizes.

The LED-backlit LCD displays provide a number of advantages when compared to traditional CCFL-backlit LCD displays. For instance, the displays have higher dimming ratios, lower power consumption and do not require any warm-up time during at low temperatures. The displays are also eco-friendly as they do not contain mercury.

The LCD displays feature a Natural Color Matrix technology, which is a color transformation algorithm used in the hardware. The algorithm offers real-time processing to accurately match the colors given in a data source for vibrant color reproduction. The displays also have LVDS and CMOS interfaces for convenient system development.

The LCDs are used in various applications such as medical instruments, ATM and POS machines, avionics and navigation systems and factory automation devices.
