BT to Deploy Fiber Optic Broadband Services in Cornwall County

Eclipse Internet, broadband service provider, announced that its customers are in a good position to gain from BT’s fiber-optic broadband project in Cornwall County.

Cornwall Council and BT announced that they will shell out approximately £132 million to link 80% to 90% of households and businesses to high-speed broadband by 2014.

Eclipse’s Director of internet service provider, Clodagh Murphy stated that the company is conscious of the demands placed on small business enterprises. Such businesses were established only 15 years ago in the south-west region. Fast and efficient internet connections are critical for small business companies as they can help companies to grow significantly. The fiber-optic broadband project would offer new commercial opportunities to its Cornwall customers, Murphy added.

Cornwall’s communications minister, Ed Vaizey was delighted about BT’s plan and informed that the fiber-optic project will bring high-quality broadband connections to the county.
