Diodes has announced its new multi-topology LED driver for high brightness commercial, industrial, and automotive lighting systems. The new ZXLD1374 LED driver utilizes high-side current sensing and control loops, for obtaining precise current control in LED strings.
The 60V power MOSFET switch of the LED driver can generate LED current of up to 1.5A, and operates in buck-boost, boost, and buck modes. The ZXLD1374 has 1% output current tolerance, and an input voltage range of 6 – 60 V, in all topologies. Hence, the ZXLD1374 LED driver supports tight inter-lamp luminance-matching, and high current levels required by the high brightness LED devices. The active LED thermal management feature of the LED driver enables higher longevity and reliability for LEDs.
The ZXLD1374 LED driver features PWM dimming and DC dimming pins, offering dynamic dimming range of 1000:1 at a frequency of 500Hz. This enables high resolution and precise control of color mixing, at low brightness levels. The 100kHz low frequency clamp and 1MHz switching frequency functionality of the IC minimizes the external inductor’s size and simplify the input EMI filters design.
