IRIDEX to Sell Extended Range of EndoProbe Laser Delivery Units in Japan

Provider of laser-based medical systems, IRIDEX announced that it has obtained approval, and will start selling its expanded series of EndoProbe laser delivery units in Japan.

The company will distribute the products through TOMEY, its partner. The EndoProbe system is an intraocular laser delivery unit utilized in vitreoretinal surgery for treating disorders, such as vitreous hemorrhage, retinal detachments, and diabetic retinopathy.

The new probes are likely to be utilized with the existing IRIDEX systems in Japan.   The Senior Vice-President of Business Development, Eduardo Arias stated that the product series incorporates single-use laser delivery units with standard designs to complement every surgeon’s technique.

IRIDEX’ President and CEO, Theodore A. Boutacoff commented that TOMEY sells the company’s ophthalmic laser solutions and delivery units in the Japanese market.
