PON Solutions of PMC-Sierra Displayed at P+T EXPO-COMM

PMC-Sierra, a provider of Internet infrastructure semiconductor solutions, will display its PON, OTN, and Converged Carrier Ethernet semiconductor solutions at P&T EXPO/COMM in Beijing, China, from October 11 - 15, 2010. The semiconductor solutions allow high broadband connectivity.

PMC-Sierra will show its end-to-end fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) solutions with the Ethernet over Coax partner technology at the event. The Ethernet over Coax partner technology enables cable operators to deploy FTTx, which will drive optical fiber into the cable networks.

PMC-Sierra will also showcase many GPON ONT solutions at the EXPO/COMM. The company has launched the new TotalPON solution to develop PON systems, offering a comprehensive architecture to meet the global market. PMC-Sierra supports GPON (ITU-T G.984), 10G EPON (IEEE 802.3av), and EPON (IEEE 802.3ah Ethernet in the First Mile) standards.

In addition, PMC-Sierra will display the first multiservice (OTN/Ethernet/POS) solution, called the META 20G, together with an integrated Packet Timing (IEEE 1588v2 and SyncE) for latency requiring services like video and wireless. The company’s OTN chipset family and the HyPHY 20G power the OTN deployments in global carrier networks.
