PD-LD Rolls out VBG-Stabilized Red Laser Series for Raman Spectroscopy Applications

PD-LD, developer of fiber coupled laser diodes, has introduced the VBG-stabilized multimode red laser series with 647 nm wavelength. The new product family is stabilized using the company’s patented VBG technology, and is differentiated by the combination of small size, narrow bandwidth, precise center wavelength and high power.

Utilizing the VBG technology as a wavelength stabilization method helps in generating a laser with a combination of functional qualities. The attributes include high optical power, a line width that is less than 0.1 nm and high spectral purity. The internal temperature control of the laser ensures consistent power and spectral stability over various operating conditions.

The Chief Technical Officer of PD-LD, Dr. Boris Volodin stated that the red laser source generates an enhanced array of spectroscopic analytical abilities. The laser’s expanded range and enhanced precision enable improved characterization of the Raman spectroscopy’s CH stretch range.

PD-LD’s Vice-President of Sales, Tom DeBerardine commented that the laser has numerous applications, including sensing, avionics and Raman spectroscopy.
