New LED Outdoor Lighting Fixtures from CAST Lighting

CAST Lighting has unveiled a family of highly rugged LED outdoor lighting fixtures. The new CEWL5LED1 LED Engineered Wall Light endures the 20+ year lifespan of the LED light source.

CAST Lightings’ President, David Beausoleil stated that most of the existing lighting fixtures housing the LEDs last for a very short time. Savings in energy-costs are of no use, if the lighting fixture degrades before the lifespan of the LED lighting. He added that the company utilizes sand-cast bronze for all the fixture housings. The materials are more corrosion resistant than aluminum, copper, and brass.

Thermal management is another issue with the existing LED landscape lightings. LED chips have a drastic reduction in the lifetime, when subjected to even marginally high temperatures. Cast Lighting resolves the thermal management issue, by thermally binding the LED board to the bronze housing. The LED chips are under-driven to generate less heat. A water-resistant coating is used on the board to provide moisture protection.

CAST Lighting claimed that the lighting fixture would be in a proper condition even after the lifespan of the LED board comes to an end. The LED board is also replaceable.
