Lighting Science Group, a developer of LED lighting solutions, has obtained the ENERGY STAR label for its LED bulb, following a stringent government performance testing. The DEFINITY PAR38 lighting is fully dimmable, has nearly 50% more lumens compared to similar products, and is over 80% efficient than the 75 W halogen bulb.
To assure reliability and performance, the DEFINITY LED series was tested under the ENERGY STAR Eligibility Criteria, Version 1.1 procedure, by a lab approved by the CALiPER program of the U.S. Department of Energy. The DEFINITY PAR38 bulb was tested under the LM79 standard in a third party lab for light emission pattern, color spatial uniformity, color rendering, color temperature, and overall efficiency.
The LED light underwent color maintenance and lumen maintenance testing, in-situ temperature testing, and rapid cycle thermal stress testing. It also underwent a 3,000 hr operational test, at ambient temperature.
Attaining the ENERGY STAR label allows consumers to spot and buy energy-efficient products that provide savings on the energy bills, without compromising on the comfort, features and performance.
