LaserCard to Supply Optical Security Media ID Cards to Costa Rican Government

Provider of secure ID solutions, LaserCard, has obtained a $2.8 million purchase order to provide foreign resident ID cards to Costa Rica’s Immigration Authority.

LaserCard provides advanced ID solutions that are used by a number of government organizations across the globe. The ID credentials are adopted in a wide range of ID card programs such as driver licenses, vehicle registration, government employee ID, student ID, foreign resident ID and citizen ID.

LaserCard’s foreign resident cards incorporate a sophisticated technology called the optical security media. This technology is also featured in the U.S. Green Card. The foreign resident cards are anticipated to be delivered by December 2010.

LaserCard’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Robert DeVincenzi commented that the company is delighted by the extension of border security program. He added that the government of Costa Rica is committed in deploying safe and advanced credential technology to control illegal immigration.
