Supplier of optical layer management products, Glimmerglass Networks, will showcase new optical, photonic switching products at the European Conference and Exhibition on Optical Communication (ECOC) 2010.
The company will display the products along with Laser 2000. The ECOC conference focuses on upcoming optical communication technologies such as 100 Gbps headband and Ethernet access, modulation plans for high-speed data transmission and latest fiber-based components.
The intelligent optical layer systems from Glimmerglass allow service providers to quickly reconfigure the optical layer. The systems speed up time-to-service process, reduce OPEX and SLA penalties and enhance network availability.
Glimmerglass’ optical solutions also allow service providers to quickly and remotely choose optical paths for monitoring purposes. Swift selection of optical paths reduces the CAPEX needed to comply with lawful interception needs.
Glimmerglass’ VP of EMSA Sales, Bernd Schilp stated that the company’s intelligent optical layer solutions support carriers who provide advanced network solutions to their users. He added that the solutions allow service providers to eradicate substantial SLA penalties, offer five 9s availability and reduce OPEX by over 30%.
