Sunovia Energy, manufacturer of LED lighting products, announced that DePaul University has installed its high-performance EvoLucia LED lights. The university replaced 210 W metal halide lights with 90 W EvoLucia LEDs in the Sheffield parking garage at Lincoln Park campus. The campus is based in Chicago.
The LED lights consume less than 50% of the energy consumed by the metal halide lamps. The LED lamps will provide significant savings in terms of maintenance and energy use, and will offer enhanced visibility, uniform light distribution and security to the campus.
The EvoLucia LED lights can be used in high-traffic outdoor locations and other challenging environments. These lights do not necessitate bulb replacements for about six years.
Illinois Solar Products’ Ernie Nathan helped in the transaction of the EvoLucia LED lights to DePaul University. Illinois Solar Products distributes lighting products to various consumers.
Sunovia’s VP of Global Sales, Jim Perkins stated that the energy-efficient LED lighting is suitable for parking garages, provided the lights are switched on continuously.
