Finisar, provider of fiber-optic subsystems, has launched new programmable optical processors, the WaveShaper 100S Channel Selector and the WaveManager Application Suite. These products expand the company’s portfolio of WaveShaper programmable optical processors. Finisar will demonstrate the products at the 2010 European Conference and Exhibition on Optical Communications (ECOC) in Torino, Italy.
WaveShaper 4000S Multiport Optical Processor
The WaveShaper 100S Channel Selector is a DWDM Channel Selector developed for production test applications. The fully programmable WaveShaper 100S provides users to select Gaussian and Flat-top filter shapes. The channel selector’s filter bandwidth can be programmed from 25 to 200 GHz and center frequencies can be programmed in 1 GHz increase across the L- or C-band.
The WaveManager Application Suite further improves the WaveShaper programmable optical processor series. The WaveManager Application Suite provides more control of WaveShaper filtering functions, and supports the Flexgrid operation of the WaveShaper 4000M and 4000S. In addition, the suite has an enhanced user interface and supports Linux and Windows systems.
