The telecom company BT will provide free fibre-optic upgrade to its consumers. The company will offer a BT Infinity upgrade to its consumers, who subscribe for calls and broadband services.
BT is still offering its Infinity service on a small scale, however, it will also provide a superfast broadband service. BT has planned to deploy its fibre-optic network to about two thirds of homes in the UK, by 2015. The company is making important developments towards the network installation.
The Managing Director of Consumer division at BT, John Petter stated that optical fiber holds the future of broadband services. He added that the company is enhancing the standard and the broadband speed for customers throughout the country. BT is the sole company to offer free fiber network upgrade and free line installations for new packages, Petter noted.
