Developer of high-performance computing platforms, Advantech, has rolled out a new EKI-2525SPI fiber-optic industrial Power over Ethernet (PoE) switch. The EKI-2525SPI PoE switch has four PoE ports and incorporates a swift fiber-optic connection with surplus power inputs.
The EKI-2525SPI switch has an extensive operating temperature that range from -40 to +75 °C, enabling it to function reliably in adverse environments. The switch provides a 48 V DC surplus power input design and is protected by using a dual protection mechanism: overload current resettable fuse and power polarity reverse. The device has a compact metal covering and is IP30 rated to shield against dirt and dust, which is common in industrial settings.
The PoE switch offers a maximum power of 15.4 W for every port. It can be utilized for powering powered devices via an Ethernet cable. This removes the requirement for extra wiring. The switch can be utilized with IEEE802.3af compliant power devices.
