Provider of electro-optic components for 100G and 40G optical networks, GigOptix will exhibit the 100G and 40G Bundled Solutions at the European Conference and Exhibition on Optical Communications (ECOC), to be held in Italy. ECOC will take place from September 20 to 22, 2010.
The Bundled Solutions comprise a Thin Film Polymer on Silicon Mach-Zehnder Modulator, Transimpendance Amplifier (TIA), with a matching driver to be used with an optical application. The solution speeds up the time-to-market for latest products, decreases customer engineering expenditure, and allows customers to use the low-power solutions of GigOptix with improved cost-efficiencies. The Bundled Solutions will address Coherent 100G and 40G DP-QPSK, 40G RZ-DQPSK, and 40G DPSK applications.
GigOptix’s VP of Marketing, Padraig O’Mathuna stated that the bundled solutions offer a competitive advantage to the company, as these products are not available with any other supplier. He commented that the company’s modulator, driver, and TIA designs are optimized to function together, to attain the best performance while decreasing the R&D costs for the customers.
