Energy ETC Conducts LED Lighting Pilot Program at California Research Center

Energy ETC, modern energy service provider, conducted a pilot program on solid state LED lighting at a research center in Palo Alto, California. Energy ETC demonstrated how the direct replacement solid state lighting technology promotes easy installation and increased energy savings. The company has provided the installation labor and material required for the pilot program.

At the research center, Energy ETC replaced existing T-8 fluorescent lamps with three LED tube lights. The LED bulbs produced a 14 W power savings, as each lamp consumed as less as 18 W of energy compared to the T8 fluorescent lamps that consumed 32 W of power.

The LED lamps could offer a yearly energy savings of 630 kWhs per office. Annual energy savings in more than 300 offices could yield more than 189,000 kWh /year. This energy saving will prevent as much as 114 tons of CO2 emissions.
