Zygo, in late 2009, was awarded a contract to develop the Advanced Helmet Mount Displays for the U.S. Air Force F-16 training program. Zygo’s electro-optics group has manufactured the AHMD. The group offers optical systems to the industrial, life sciences and defense markets.

Optical Systems Division’s President, John Stack stated that the Advanced Helmet Mount Display is ideal for fixed wing applications, which need high field of view and visual acuity.

Zygo’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Chris L. Koliopoulos commented that the Advanced Helmet Mount Display leverages the company’s experience in assembly and optical fabrication technologies to provide consistent performance.
