Analog Modules, developer of electronic products for electro-optic and laser industries, has launched a new Seed laser diode driver. The Model 762 laser diode driver, also known as pump laser diode driver, is suitable for driving laser diode modules in Pulsed or CW fiber MOPA systems.
Applications of the 762 laser diode driver include rangefinding, laser communications, LIDAR systems and materials processing. The driver circuit functions from one +5 V power source and can offer a maximum drive current of 2.5 A with compliance voltages of up to 2.5 V. Pulsewidths of 20 ns or less are likely with a 10 ns optical pulse risetime.
Settings can be made via analog function by utilizing multi-turn potentiometers or via the FPGA that features a complete pulse generation system. The board incorporates a PID thermoelectric cooler controller, offers sensing for a back face monitor, and sends out a digital laser fire pulse indicator and a scaled analog output. The laser diode driver is available in two different versions such as military and ROHS models.
