RST Selects Motorola’s GPON Solution for Fiber-Based FTTH Network

RST Communications, communication and energy service provider, has chosen Motorola’s gigabit passive optical network (GPON) solution. The GPON solution will enable RST to provide next-generation broadband and video services across its FTTH network. RST will utilize the GPON solution to bolster the broadband IP data, video and voice delivery and energy management applications in North and South Carolina.

The GPON solution offers companies like RST to provide new broadband services for business and residential subscribers. RST can depend on Motorola’s proficiency in indoor/outdoor optical network terminals and IP video services to support the demand for broadband and video services.

The GPON portfolio of Motorola includes the ONT1500, ONT1400GTI indoor single-family ONT, ONT1400GT2 single-family ONT, and Motorola AXS2000 optical line terminal. The GPON is suitable for small office applications.

Randy Revels at RST stated that the company anticipates Motorola to provide high-quality GPON technology and apply its expertise to provide a strong network foundation for internet, voice and video services.
