MultiTouch Unveils World’s First LCD Display at IBC2010

MultiTouch has introduced the world’s first multi-touch screen for digital and retail signage applications. MultiTouch demonstrated the new Cell 46? Advanced LCD display at the IBC2010 event in Amsterdam from 10 to 14 September 2010.

The MultiTouch Cell Advanced is a 46” display and weighs 37 kg. The display is specifically developed for high-definition applications, but can also be customized for sophisticated reality applications such as marker readers and 2D barcode.

The display provides 1920x1080 pixel resolution and can be stacked to up to 14 Cell units in wall or table displays. The display offers enhanced brightness, while its borders provide aesthetic configurations such as a sophisticated asymmetric wall or table display patterns.

The MultiTouch Cell Advanced LCD display provides vital advancements for the display industry such as easy mounting, reduced space requirements and sturdy aluminum chassis. The display does not require any maintenance and can be integrated easily into store designs and customized furniture. The MultiTouch Cell Advanced also complies with the green electronic standards.

MultiTouch’s computer vision system can read about 100 frames per second in both dark and bright settings. The vision system is complemented by software, which converts the touch function into the programming experience and generates multi-touch displays to read any number of touch points, including 2D Markers, fingertips, fingers and hands. The MultiTouch Cornerstone software enables the development of versatile multi-platform applications.
