Manufacturer of projector and LCD display systems, NEC Display Solutions of America, has received the TCO Certified Edge award for removing halogens in the 22” MultiSync EA222WMe LCD monitor. The MultiSync EA222WMe is a LED-backlit monitor that provides a number of environmentally-friendly features for the healthcare, government, education and business environments.
The MultiSync EA222WMe’s advanced LED backlighting technology offers similar brightness levels as other types of panels but utilizes 20% lesser power. The MultiSync EA222WMe utilizes 15% less packaging and weighs 25% less. It produces 61% less heat and uses 52% less power compared to the previous models of NEC LCDs.
The monitor complies with TCO 5.0 and ENERGY STAR 5.0 standards and does not contain arsenic, halogen and mercury. The LCD monitor is one of the first electronic products that do not contain halogens such as chlorine and bromine. Halogens are generally utilized to prevent electrical fires.
NEC’s Product Manager, Lynn Gu stated that the company is pleased to receive the recognition from TCO Development. He added that the company continuously strives to comply with stringent requirements for enhanced efficiency and eco-friendly materials.
