GAO Instruments, manufacturer of electronics measurement devices, has introduced a new fiber optic identifier that is suitable for installing and maintaining CATV and telecommunication systems.
The A0640002 fiber optic identifier detects signal frequency tones of 2 kHz, 1 kHz and 270 Hz. The high-performance fiber optic identifier can easily and precisely detect the signal’s frequency tone and traffic direction in an optical fiber. The identifier indicates the signal status via the LEDs.
The A0640002 fiber optic identifier shows three grades of signal intensity and provides an adaptor, which can be replaced easily. The device has minimal bending loss and can detect optical signals from 900 to 1650 nm wavelengths. The A0640002 eliminates the need to open a fiber at the splice point. An audible tone can be heard when unsafe detection is present on the fiber-optic network while testing.
