New IDT VDAP1000 Single-Chip Solution for Small TFT LCD Panels

Provider of mixed signal semiconductor solutions, Integrated Device Technology, has launched a new IDT VDAP1000 single-chip power management solution for TFT LCD panels.

TFT LCD panels include notebooks, Tablet PCs and netbooks. The single-chip solution combines a low-voltage differential signaling timing controller with a 4-channel LED driver and an integrated power management in a single chip.

The IDT VDAP1000 reduces the board space and saves power, enabling reduced materials costs and increased design versatility. The chip reduces electromagnetic interference by using spread spectrum technology. Reduced electromagnetic interference enhances system performance and signal integrity.

In addition to IDT VDAP1000, the company is launching the VDAP1001 that has the same functions as the VDAP1000 single-chip solution. The VDAP1001 is designed to support industrial temperature range.

IDT Video and Display Operation’s General Manager and VP, Ji Park stated that the combination of the IDT PowerSmart technology offers high flexibility to designers.  Park added that IDT is the only firm to provide a single-chip solution with complete integrated power management function for small TFT LCD panels.
