Provider of broadband communications access systems, Calix, has announced the expansion of fiber access solutions that offer new business and residential solutions and brings high flexibility and port density to the company’s Unified Access series.
The GE-24 line card designed for the E7 ESAP (Ethernet Service Access Platform) provides high deployment flexibility and 24-port gigabit Ethernet port density to the fiber access modular platform.
The business point-to-point gigabit Ethernet and the residential Active Ethernet support has been expanded throughout the entire 760GX and 700GE optical network terminals. This extension improves the current gigabit passive optical network on the entire optical network terminals. In addition, the expansion includes the pseudowire emulation edge-to-edge 3 T1/E1 circuit emulation.
The 716GE-I ONT is the first indoor optical network terminals developed by Calix. The 716GE-I ONT supports a number of features such as a wide temperature range, voice activated remote ONT activation, full line rate GE support, and the capability to automatically detect Active Ethernet and gigabit passive optical network.
Calix will showcase the entire fiber access solutions as well as the 716GE-I indoor ONT and the E7 GE-24 line cards at the Fiber to the Home Conference and Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada. The even3t will be held from 13 to 15 September 2010.
