LG-Ericsson to Demonstrate WDM-PON Solutions at 2010 FTTH Conference + Expo

LG-Ericsson, a joint venture company of Ericsson and LG Electronics, will present live demonstrations of online data backup, HD video surveillance, 3D triple-play video and other advanced technologies at the 2010 FTTH Conference & Expo.

The event will take place in Las Vegas from 12 to 16 September 2010. The expo will provide a platform to view the latest applications and services supported by LG-Ericsson’s WDM-PON Ethernet Access solutions.

LG-Ericsson’s Ethernet Access 1100 solution was included in the Rural Utility Services List of Materials. This inclusion enables its use on telecommunications devices that are operated by rural telephone firms. These firms normally deploy fiber-to-the-home triple-play services in rural areas throughout the US. The Ethernet Access portfolio will power the company’s demonstrations of fiber-to-the-home functionalities at the conference.

The Ethernet Access 1100 solution utilizes a single fiber to connect the office or home to provide access to symmetrical services and applications at 1 Gbps speeds. The high-speed access enables rural telephone companies to provide internet, video, bundled voice services and business applications across a single fiber connection to home. The company will also participate at the WDM-PON workshop, which will be conducted simultaneously at the FTTH Conference & Expo.
