GAO Fiber Optics Introduces New Cisco Compatible Optical Transceiver

Provider of fiber optic measurement and test instruments, GAO Fiber Optics, has launched a new Cisco compatible transceiver for optical transport devices and Cisco routers and switches. The optical transceiver has an operating wavelength of 1590 nm.

The Cisco compatible transceiver can be utilized with the fiber channel 2 and 1Gbps full-duplex links and 1.25 Gbps full-duplex links with 30dB optical link budget. The transceiver is a hot-swappable output and input device that can be plugged into a Cisco router/switch’s GBIC port to connect the port with the optical networks.

The transceiver complies with IEEE802.3z standard and provides a dual LC/PC connector and a standard GBIC interface for network connection. The transceiver is also equipped with a receiver and a transmitter that are integrated via the same circuitry.
