New Laser Procedures Introduced by Technolas Perfect Vision

The ophthalmology laser company, Technolas Perfect Vision (TPV) has released its new laser procedures, CUSTOMLENS and SUPRACOR, for cataract surgery and presbyopia treatment, respectively. The company launched the new laser procedures at the XXVIII Congress of the ESCRS, held in Paris.

TECHNOLAS Excimer Workstation

The CUSTOMLENS is a femtosecond laser procedure that has been developed for application during cataract surgery. The CUSTOMLENS will be available as a module on the TECHNOLAS Femtosecond Workstation. This makes the CUSTOMLENS the first femtosecond laser to perform refractive and cataract surgery using a single device. The device can also perform the CUSTOMFLAP Lasik flaps, INTRACOR presbyopia treatment, and the CUSTOMSHAPE therapeutic indications.

The SUPRACOR aberration-optimized presbyopic algorithm is a corneal approach, used for presbyopia treatment. The SUPRACOR laser procedure can also be applied for cases such as Emmetropic, Hyperopic, and Myopic eyes, and post-LASIK. The SUPRACOR procedure is conducted with help of the TECHNOLAS Excimer Workstation 217P.

The SUPRACOR algorithm utilizes the experience of INTRACOR and learnings from the corneal approach using excimer lasers, to enhance patient satisfaction and treatment results. The SUPRACOR offers effective results, without producing any undesired aberrations in patients.
