Supplier of fiber optic measurement and test devices, GAO Fiber Optics, has introduced a new, advanced pen style optical visual fault locator for field technicians. Technicians can utilize the cost-efficient tool for continuity checking, fiber routing and fiber tracking in optical fiber networks.
The 3105P visual fault locator detects breaks, cracks or bends in fiber optic cables, identifies errors in an OTDR dead zone and performs visual fiber identification. The 3105P supports both pulse and CW operating modes, provides steady output power and warns in case of any low-voltage incidents.
The 650 nm optical visual fault locator is resistant to dust and breakage and is available with a 2.5 mm universal connector and a FP-LD emitter. The 3105P features a laser case ground design that helps in preventing electrostatic discharge damage. An LC (female) or FC (male) converter is provided when 1.25 mm connectors are required.
The 3105P complies with EMC, CE and RoHS and EMI standards. The device requires two AA batteries and can be operated continuously for 60 hours.
