Vishay Introduces New VLHW4100 LED with Ultrabright InGaN Technology

Manufacturer of semiconductors and passive electronic components, Vishay Intertechnology, has rolled out a new 3-mm VLHW4100 LED for high-end applications. The non-diffused VLHW4100 is specifically designed for those applications where high luminous intensity is needed. The LED uses an advanced ultrabright InGaN technology to attain luminous intensity ranging from 4,500 to 11,250 mcd at 20 mA.

The LED has an untinted plastic case and offers high visibility performance and luminous intensity. The plastic case is equipped with a lens and 22.5° viewing angle. The VLHW4100 can be used in a number of consumer and general applications such as front panel indicators, light guides and outdoor LED panels. The LED, with high luminous intensity, can be used to replace incandescent bulbs.

The VLHW4100 LED provides power dissipation of up to 95 mW and offers minimal thermal resistance of 400 K/W. The LED’s ESD-withstand voltage is 2 kV, which is in accordance with JESD22-A114-B standard. The VLHW4100 also complies with the RoHS directive 2002/95/EC.
